The difference between the same cue.

I'm in the market for a new cue and have pretty much decided on a Mcdermott. After reviewing all of the different lower end cues, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between these two cues. One is an alpha series, and one is a genesis, but it seems to me that everything is the same:

other then the sleeve on the joint and the rings on the joint that might affect the ballance of the cue, they look quite the same
