ebony and maple

Hi,
I was curious how a maple forearm with an ebony butt would affect the balance point of the cue. I know that ebony is a slightly heavier wood than maple and didnt know if it would act the in the same manner as adding a heavier weight screw to the butt. thanks

Cues are made in three pieces. Under the wrap it's generally maple, the butt end of the cue is a sleeve over a core from the handles wood piece.
