I am looking for a good starter cue for my girlfriend and am looking at the cuetec cues. However i absolutely hate their slippery grips... can you get linen put on any cutec or how about leather???

She wants to spend less than 200 bucks and probibly closer to 100. Please help me out in giving me your opinions... thnanks alot

the cues in the next link are with linen grip and they will play just as good as any other cuetec

yeah but those are so basic looking....

What is a good starter cue??? for around 150 bucks or so???

Basic looking is what you're going to get for $150. Most $150 cues with designs on them are just decorated with stickers, not real points or inlays. There are a lot of good looking finishes if you look around though. Check out McDermott or Lucasi on this site also. They may have a couple of designs in your price range that you like, and they are both quality cues for the money.

lol, to avoid such a debate I retract the Lucasi suggestion and insert Viking...
