Burnishing my Water buffalo?

So i have attempted to burnish the sides of my wb's and well it doesnt work too well, I follow the directions however im not sure you can burnish whatever type of material that is...can anyone shed some light?

Wish I had some advice, but I dont do tips.. Tanar or Skor will hopefully chime in since they know their share about tipping!!

I had no problom with burnishing tips made of water buffalo using the porper tip burnisher

If it is the Talisman water buffalo then those are harder to burnish. For some reason when I install one on the lathe they dont seem to shine up as well.
