Sid , Rick and Deb, be honest now !!! Here is the scenario. If you receive a online order for one 1st quality 314 shaft and you happen to have 3 of them left stock. All 3 are free of damage , no dent ,no scratch.... However you noticed on further inspection that

Shaft # 1 has a slight thin 1/2 inch long mineral stain
Shaft #2 grain lines are more visisble and or not as straight as shaft#1
or shaft #3
Shaft # 3 best looking among the 3 shaft

Its obvious that if you have walk in costomers, shaft # 3 would be easier to sell than shaft #1 or #2 due to the cosmetic advantage.

Which shaft would you ship to your online costomer . Multiple choice :

A Send him shaft # 1 or # 2 since it would be harder to sell that to walk in costomers. Anyways its not as if your sending a damage shaft right. Just not the best looking one.

B . Knowing before hand that all 3 shafts have no damage, you wont make any further inspection ( so you wont notice that Shaft # 3 is the the best looking among the 3 shafts ) so just randomly get 1 shaft to ship to costomer

C : Putting yourselft in the shoes of the online costomer, even though knowing before hand all 3 shaft have no damage, you will further inspect the 3 shafts and noticing that shaft # 3 looks best , this is what you will send to you your costomer as this would be your choice if you were to get this shaft for yourself.

Looking forward to your reply. Honesty is the best policy

Good question....

Say this scenario was to happen, we actually would send the best one to our online customer. The reason is that if we were to ship out #1 or #2 shaft, we would have to tend with the customer on the phone and maybe even having to send another shaft to replace it. So we always think it is best to favor the online customer then to the in house customer. (Now don't be telling our in house customers that...)

So the answer would be C...

Thanks,
Rick

Woah VERY GOOD question!

I would have to say C....wouldn't want the online customer to be unhappy w/ our services and have to spend time getting ahold of us and wait for another shipment of the shaft.

As for the house customer, if they mention that they didn't like the look of the shaft, we would order more and ask the customer to return again and have their choice. This is not possible for our online/telephone customers.

as Rick said...don't tell our house customers

*wipes sweat off her forehead* gosh that was like answering a final exam at college....
