I like the light bluish grey felt that a lot of tournament use nowadays, but I think a red might fit the room better. What would YOU choose and why? Thanks guys!

Here is what I've read or been told (don’t remember which) and I don't know if there is any validity to it. The traditional green is less fatiguing on the eyes.

Green...
But as a second option, green would be good also.. ;)

Thanks guys. I really like the light blue.. but I don't think it'll match the room... :-/
I always thought it was felt, beacuse you say "Refelting the pool table" ?

It is CLOTH!
It's hard to tell from that picture. One of my coworkers has a room with a peach-colored carpet, and the table is covered to match. Very boring, in my opinion. Go with the traditional green, and accessorize the room to match, if necessary. The green can provide a punch of color in there. Leave the trim in the room white, and paint the walls a darker color like red or a taupe, or even a darker (but not really dark) brown. Make the table a focal point.

Sounds like a good plan, but, the fireplace is basically not going to change color. I'm actually thinking that a brownish color may match the fireplace.... this is such a big decision!!!!!!
Here's my woman point of view. I would go either Tournament green or Electric blue color to really make the room stand out and the fireplace would really stand out as well with the pool table. You could even go for Golden or Camel color to make the room bit neutal as you do have a gold window ontop of the main windows.
If you put Brown cloth on it, it's going to make the room look very dull and bit rusty (Altho rustic isn't a bad thing...it will be in this room)
You want a captive room, not an eyesore room.
Just my opinion of what I see in the room.

Yeah, the electric blue is another excellent color, as well I like camel.
When it comes down to it though, green is just a bit easier on the eyes in my opinion..

Downstairs in the basement!!! Here you go. (that's not me btw)

move the table down there as well, no point in running up and down to get beer, and besides it's cooler in the basement (if you don't have a/c in the billiard room)

That sounds like an idea, but, we really need the room downstairs (parties) and it'd be a pain to move.... its perfect where it is now. ;)

Wow nice room man! Id have to say I like green "cloth" the best but seeings how you have red in the room already i think I would recomend RED. Blue would look weird in that room... don't do that. Either way though its tough to go wrong with new cloth it will change your table for the good.

If you are going for the matching look, I would say Red...but it is true that green is easier on the eyes, plus there's a reason most places use the green...it's better quality from what I am told!
