I'm thinking about getting this Q-clean microburnishing film. Is it worth it, or should I spend the money on a piece of leather instead?

How is this Joe Porper "Burnishing" Leather? It looks like a furry little thing and the one I see is blue.

thanks.

Get yourself some q-clean and clean her up first.. Then use the burnishing film.. That is the process I use, only when needed, and if done right you can make the shaft feel and look like brand new..

Good stuff. Audiopro, now I know how you got so many posts. You actually come to this board every once in a while, unlike the other people. :)

I couldn't bring myself to buy the Q-clean. 10 bucks for 1 oz? I'd rather kill myself first..... I may look into waxes and other stuff like that...

The Q-clean, is doing a good job and that 1 oz should last for quite a while.
the q-clean gets all the dirt and chalk out of the wood and no wax will do that.
I use it about once every two months and I keep my hands clean

Sigh okay. I may get some later.....when my cues get dirty. :P for now they're about a week old.

The q-clean is a powder that you sprinkle on a slightly dampened cloth. It doesn't take much.. I've had the same bottle for about a year and have yet to use it all.. Excellent stuff...

In the mean time, if you use that same slightly dampened cloth with just the water, it should be helpful...

Couple other tips.. When you're playing pool, dont use your bridge hand for drinking or eating.. Wash your hands before you shoot, and every so often after if your hands pickup the blue chalk off most tables.. I usually wash every 10 racks or so.. Unless you sweat a lot, try not to use any powders.. They just contaminate the shafts pores..

Hope this helps..

Thanks Mr. Pro. I normally pick up blue chalk with my "butt" hand so I think this may in turn let me have a cleaner shaft. I do wash my hands before I play.

I am assuming you chalk with your butt hand.. This normally causes a little chalk in the center of the palm.. Your right.. However a lot of tables, especially ones that are not brushed a lot such as ones in pool halls, have an abundance of chalk on the felt. This can cause a buildup on the heel of your bridge hand and the tips of your bridging fingers.. Take a look some time after you play on a bar table for an hour or so..

On a home table that doesn't get 8 hours of play, every day, year round, you dont get so much..

Yah.. I do notice that my hand turns blue at pool places.... I thought it was because they used cheap dye to dye the tables to make them look darker in color at first lol, but now I know better. :)

At the table I have at home it doens't do that. :D

Thanks. Also, when you guys read this I'd also like a Sir Joseph Glove.

The tip of my middle finger to the bottom of my palm is 7 inches. The length of my middle finger is like 3 1/8"... so should I get a small glove?

I dont know, you should go to your local pool dealer and maybe try one on if they let you. Thats what i would try to do.

Awesome Skor, I just checked it out. I'm barely bigger than a medium but this measurement thing really has a lotta error. Deathtron, I don't have a billiard store nearby :D

I am a medicine student and I normally use gloves for a lot of things and I use 7 or 7 1/2 gloves but when there are only the options of small, medium, large I always pick medium and they fit really well.
Hope it helps

I would think so the sizes in gloves are standard and are the same all over the world.

REALLY! Now that's interesting. I thought they can just call a medium whatever they want, etc. Shirts seem to be this way.
