What type of joint does Viking use?
Is it the same up and down the line?
How is the hit as opposed to the uniloc and which is considered the
better of the two.

I posted a similar question before I have a Lucasi with the uniloc and it seems to be a hard hit by switching to the Viking can I expect a softer hit and does the tip have any affect on the hit I currently have a Triangle tip on the Lucasi.

Hey, in addition to my email, just so you know Viking does make several types of joints. Their charecteristics are ountlined here..

http://www.vikingcue.com/pages/cues/joints.htm

Additionally, almost every feature of any Viking cue can be customized at little but usually no cost.. The stain color, inlay color, and linen colors.. You could even opt for a leather wrap, excellent choice in my opinion..

Uniloc is a great joint. A nice innovation. The same company produces the radial pin joint, which Chris Nitti uses in his custom cues. I love my radial pin.. And too, I love my Viking's with their conventional joints... The Uni-Loc itself, I have heard good things about, as well as a couple not so good things. Mostly them coming loose throughout gameplay.. Personally I think that is a fluke. Speaking as someone who has worked in custom automotive industry for a profession at one point, and now as a hobby, where fasteners are under very stressful conditions and tight tolerances, the design theories and characters of the Uni-Loc'sare great in my opinion.

However, the standard fastener types are as well, tried and true.. You cant go wrong with a standard threaded joint. The minor differences really come down to the feedback you receive.. And really you get more feedback based on the joint type, then you do the fastener type..
