I would post this in the correct session on this board, but it seems that the cue sections get much more traffic. :)
Anyway I live in a fraternity house, and there's a pool table downstairs which seems great to play on.
The cloth seems okay, but seems to have a lot of friction from stains/age. This is O.K, except that from distances of maybe 1/3 a table down I find it VERY hard to do backspin b/c the friction cancels out the spin, and I have to hit much harder than I'd like and I usually miss. Can I just buy some cloth for around $80 bucks or so and install it myself with some friends? I've read up on some instructions and it certainly sounds do-able. This would definitely be a much more affordable suggestion than getting a pro to come and install it. Also, how much of a difference is there between teh cloth grades? Any suggestions....?
Also, my second question is regarding English--yes I'm a noob. So If I'm performing left English on a ball, do I shift my entire pool stick to the left while keeping it parallel--or do I just pivot the front end of the cue to the left without moving my bridge hand?[/img]
