View Full Version : Is McDermott a step up from Viking?

I'm interested in buying the Classic M3-3A, is this a higher quality production cue than the Viking VX series I currently have? In particular, is the shaft wood better quality? Thanks :D.

In my opinion the Viking shaft is better then the McDermott shaft.
If you want a real upgrade, then get a Predator 314 saft and put it on your viking cue.

Owning three Vikings and four McDermots it is my experience is that they are very similar products and if I was interested in purchasing one or the other I would base my choice on price and aesthetics.

I agree with dags. Both are good quality cues. If you are choosing between the two, I'd base it on exactly what dags said.

I agree, either cue will perform quite well and when making the choice go for what looks better to you. If you like one McDermott and one Viking equally, go on price.

To me the McDermott shaft feels too whipy while the Viking shaft feels stiffer, when it comes to butt construction both cues are at the same level.
