I purchased my first Pechauer cue a couple of weeks ago and love it. The quality and playability is so far above the Meucci I was playing with. After seeing the high quality of these cues, I was wondering if Pechauer has any pros sponsored or if any pros play with his cues.

thinking about a pechauer, what model did u get. how would u consider the hit?
Pechauer are making great cues with solid construction and a great hit. You can't go wrong with a Pechauer.
I put them on the same level as Schon, Jacoby, Mezz and Joss.

yes weighing between pechauer and joss as they have models in price range looking to spend. currently shoot with a lucasi and a cue of unknown chinese origin, think a mizerak. the lucasi is the better cue but don't care for the lightness of the shaft (about 4oz) and long taper. the other cue has a nice balance and sturdy very solid hit (shaft about 4.5oz) which seems to improve my accuracy on the long shots.
4oz is not that light.
although we have to take in account that shafts with metal inserts will weigh more because of it and not due to density of the wood.
The weight of the shaft can be different fro cue to cue, even the same model by the same maker so if you're looking for a heavy shaft you should check every cue before you buy.
Joss shafts have pro taper and are usually light. I like the Pechauer shaft better.
The Schon has a stronger taper and weight will vary but usually it'll be a bit over 4oz.
My Jacoby has a monster heavy shaft, around 4.5oz...
A heavy shaft will also forward the balance of the cue, which is one of the most important parameter of a cue and how it'll feel for you. a well balanced cue is more important than it's weight.

thread under pechauer vs. joss says pechauer shafts are 4.9oz, 5.3oz and 5.6oz. is this so?
These shafts are a bit unique.... and probably the wood was hand picked for this cue.
I believe that finding one with a 4.5oz shaft will not be a problem.
The guys at Seybert's can help you out and find a shaft to your liking. You can also custom order a shaft for a Pechauer and you can do it via Seyberts as well.
