Oh yeah, I have been a Piston fan since 1987-1988 season. I loved watching Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars.

The Pistons were simply the better team. The Lakers were just out played. Especially Shaq and Kobe. Which i think is laughable

I'm not convinced that Detriot is a better team than the Lakers but Detriot won for two reasons. 1) For two weeks Detroit had more heart than the Lakers and 2) Larry Brown out coached Phil Jackson. Just my opinion.

dags, doesn't that make them a better team? The coach is part of the team...

It makes them champions, not the better team. There is a difference. Have you ever had a night shooting pool when you just took it to a player that is better than you. Or or the other way around and been eliminated from a tournament by a weaker player.

Right, and for that night at the least I was the better player.. They had to win several nights to win. So on average for the past couple weeks at least, they were the better team. It is relative to time constraints. If you take a 5 year average Lakers would be the better team, but for a championship series these past few games is all that counts.

Have something against the Pistons dags, or are you a Laker fan? The Pistons are the better team, period. The Lakers have better INDIVIDUALS.

I guess we just look at it differently. I would say that tonight I won against a better player not that I was the better player for that night.

Let me try on this example. For a better part of the 1990s there was little doubt that Pete Sampras was the best tennis player in the world yet he didn't win every tournament. And even though Sampras may have been eliminated early and some 16th seeded player went on to win the tourney, five minutes after the trophy was awarded everyone still knew that Sampras was still the best player in the world.

The playoff structure of sports is designed to crown a champion. Some times the underdogs win and as they say "that's why they play the game.

I’m a Bucks fan at heart but I was definitely pulling for the Pistons. Something about teams trying to buy championships or what Malone and Payton did this season just doesn’t sit right with me.

Well, my take on it is that if the Pistons had some trouble beating them maybe the Lakers could be called the better team but the Pistons whooped their asses badly. Therefore, I believe that the Pistons are the better team. Defense DOES win championships. :D

I argree i think if they played the series over 10 more times i think the pistons would win at least 8 out of 10 of them. The lakers simply couldn't match up against them. The major difference between the pistons and the rest of the teams is that the Pistons literally used shaq against the lakers. They tired him out and he actually hurt them more than helped.

I Would of rather saw an offensive battle sure but I say you have to say it was fun watching the so called best players get embarassed like that. They absolutly SUCKED ASS

Lakers had the two most talented players in the series in Shaq and Kobe, but Pistons had the team and the heart. Basketball is a sport that can be impacted by great players, but it is still a team game.

Pistons left it all on the floor. I loved seeing the Lakers and their coach just whine about calls.
