Hey guys. How's it going? My name's Hayden McCall and this is my first post on this forum. (sound like an alcoholic ) I started shooting pool the summer of 1997 after finishing my first year of college at IUP near Pittsburgh. I got a job that summer at Shootz Billiards and Cafe on East Carson St. J.R. Calvert was the house pro, and I bought my first cue, a Falcon AC-1 from him. A couple years later it was stolen, and afterwards I got a Falcon VL-4 for a gift. I still shoot with the Falcon, but recenlty I started collecting Schons. I own four so far...the 610, 626, 629, and now a 701. I haven't shot with any of them...mostly because I have a shooting cue...but also because I view them as a solid investment as well. I love cues because of the craftsmanship and and material involved. I think they rival anything on canvas. Getting to the point though...I find that I really like the 610 and the 701, because they're wrapless. Anyone else like this style of cue? I like that it lends the cues to more inlays, and exposure to the raw materials that comprise the cue. If you haven't seen either cue...both are solid ebony butts and forearms. The 610 has five ebony points with ivory spearheads...and five LARGE "piano keys" on the handle. ALl the ivory is outlined in red maple. The forearm is maple. The 701 is similar to the 610, except the ebony points have ivory inlays within the points as opposed to the spearheads... and also has opposing ivory inlays pointing towards the middle of the cue. It also had turquoise inlayed at the base of each point in both the forearm and the butt. If I can figure out how to post pictures in here...maybe I can share. Anyone else own any of these models?
