Read this story this morning.
I think anyone not living under a rock knew it would only be a matter of time before such things were found. Maybe not on the scale in which the Bush administration may have believed. Either way though, things needed to be cleaned up over there.
I know the business of politics is a touchy one. And more complex than what any typical American will ever know. But in general I have to agree with the actions taken. I only pray that whoever is elected next, will keep the missions going to help secure things globally. We can't quite continue to think we can ignore other countries anymore.
Thanks for the post Fury. Hope no one finds my response offensive.

No, even though a lot of people are against any war sometimes we must live up to the responsibility to the world which the US has being the only real remaining superpower.
Overall, I just wish for all Americans & allies to return home safely. My brother is currently stationed 30 miles northwest of Baghdad. He is expected to return May of 2005. He left shortly after Thanksgiving of 2003 and has been there since.
My family and I are currently wearing dog tags w/ his name on it and we are not taking it off until he returns home safely. I would suggest for anyone that has a family or loved one overseas, to do the same to show support regardless of your views on the war/reconstruction of Iraq.

Deb, I pray that your brother and the other troops still in Iraq return home safely.

Not only that our responsibility to the world. While we have always tried to be the "Global Police", there are other issues at stake here. Let us not forget the two skyscrapers that tumbled down to the ground. The countries we are currently attempting to secure were havens for the people responsible for this attack, and many others. The protection of our country is not something we can do by simply putting a big wall around our borders. Further steps and a pro-active stance needs to take place.

Absolutely. The safe return of all our brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers is of great concern.
I will second the prayer for your brothers safe return. And let us not forget:
Jesus' promise that "whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my Name, I am there with them" (Matthew 18:19, 20).

Personally, I think the cause is right there plain as day...I'm not sure we should get into politics, I find myself very opinionated when it comes to that topic!

Not yet, but we'll see.. :-P
People often tend to feel no need to show restraint on a web board. They can safely say things that may get them smacked be it in person. ha ha...
It's just one of those things you have to deal with. The inherent nature of the Internet. Fortunately for us, this board gets along well..
Just remember, you can always blame it on dags...
9balldiva
05-18-2004, 04:25 PM
I'll remember that...I will often need to use the infamous blame transfer method!! Makes me feel better.
When I debate I never intend to offend anyone...nor do I want to. My problem is that I am so set in my ultra right wing mannerisms, I can't help it. I like heated but friendly debates!

Ha...thanks! Any jokes about clinton are hilarious to me!!
Here's another:
Q: How will history remember Bill Clinton?
A: The President after Bush.
ummmm....
One day Bill Clinton was out jogging -- and accidentally fell from a bridge into a very cold river.
Three boys, playing along the river, saw the accident. Without a second thought, they jumped in the water and dragged the wet president out of the river.
After cleaning up he said, "Boys, you saved the President of the United States today. You deserve a reward. You name it, I'll give it to you."
The first boy said, "Please, I'd like a ticket to Disneyland!"
"I'll personally hand it to you," said Mr. Clinton.
"I'd like a pair of Nike Air Turbos," the second boy said.
"I'll buy them myself and give them to you," said the grateful defender of the Western Hemisphere.
"And I'd like a wheelchair with a stereo in it," said the third boy.
"I'll personally ... wait a second, son, you're not handicapped!"
"No, but I will be when my father finds out whom I saved from drowning."

A woman's husband gets admitted to the hospital for no apparent reason. The doctor's run scnas, tests, draw blood, the whole nine yards. Finally a doctor comes out to console the family and talk about the problem. He tells everyone that he needs a brain transplant, but it can get expensive. "Well," said the wife "how much?" The doctor replied, "It will be 1500 dollars for a man's brain, and 200 dollars for a woman's brain" All the men start snickering and getting cocky. Finally one man pipes up, he just couldn't resist, "Hey doc, why the big difference in price?" So the doctor tells them, "We have to charge less for the woman's brain because it has actually been used!"

Bill Clinton is visiting a school. In one class, he asks the students if anyone can give him an example of a "tragedy." One little boy stands up and offers that, "If my best friend who lives next door is playing in the street when a car came by and killed him, that would be a tragedy."
"No," Clinton says, "That would be an ACCIDENT."
A girl raises her hand. "If a school bus carrying fifty children drove off a cliff, killing everyone inside...that would be a tragedy."
"I'm afraid not," explains Clinton. "That is what we would call a GREAT LOSS."
The room is silent; none of the other children dare volunteer.
"What?" asks Clinton, "Isn't there anyone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?"
Finally a boy in the back raises his hand. In a timid voice, he says: "If an airplane carrying Bill and Hillary Clinton was blown up by a bomb, *that* would be a tragedy."
"Wonderful!" Clinton beams. "Marvelous! And can you tell me WHY that would be a tragedy?"
"Well," says the boy, "because it wouldn't be an accident, and it certainly would be no great loss!"

I have a moral question for you. This is an imaginary situation, but think it is fun to decide what one would do. The situation: You are in the Midwest, and there is a huge flood in progress. Many homes have been lost, water supplies compromised, and infrastructure destroyed. Let's say you're a photographer out getting still photos for a news service, traveling alone, looking for particularly poignant scenes. If you were to stumble across Bill Clinton struggling to keep from being swept away in a raging river and you had a choice of rescuing him or getting a Pulitzer prize-winning photograph of the President being swept away...........
What shutter speed would you use?

let TRY to explain this program I am using in short. It's called SureTrak...and it is our scheduling system. EVERy individal activity that goes on during the time a project is in construction is listed. I have 3 separate projects within this one. So 3 sets of activities. Each activity has a start and finish date. (so now there is about 350 different activities with different dates)...all entered manually. Then aftyer all those are in I have to link activities together. Each one will have a successor and a predecessor. VERY tedious work...and I think I am growing gray hairs in the process!! I started it yesterday at about 10...and haven't stopped!!

Simon tells it like it is... And the ugly truth is that not everyone can have a voice like mariah Cary or Whitney Huston. So Simon tells people this in a rather rude way. And yes he is an Asshole but that is as you said why the show is popular. I support what he says most of the time. If i could i would do the same thing. Do you think he cares that people think he is an asshole??? He is RICH now!!! thats all he cares about and whats going to make him more. and that is by him being more of an asshole.
Sad but true... Am I wrong???

Oh, I know I have seen it. I met one of the girl at work. She was the first one I had met. Her girlfriend at the time would come in every so often while we were talking...and it wasn't until about 2 weeks ago that she told me she thought I was trying to get down her girls pants!! I have known them for about 2-3 years now, and she just told me this. It's actually quite funny to me! I think the reason two girls work out so well, is because they are both very jealous types.
