Is there any difference between the 99296, 99265, 99292 and 99339 Cuetec break/jump cue models?

How do people like these cues? I'm thinking of getting one for breaking?

Any thoughts on getting one w/ a phenolic tip? Is it worth the $'s? I've heard the tip falls of frequently...is this true?

Thanks.

Pony up the cash and get a predator BK break cue. Do it right the first time.

A Predator BK is not necessary to have a strong breaking game. That said I think it is a fine breaking cue but there are other good options out there which will work quite effectively.

Something I found on a custome cue makers website on myths about cues.

Q: If I break with my regular playing cue, will I warp the shaft?
A: This is simply not true! (Where do people get these things?)

The only way that this could be possible is if you have a break that looks like the old Mike Siegel break that was in the calendar. More thanlikely you would break your shaft.

Most of us do not try to drive the tip into the floor on the follow-through after the break, so warping the shaft on the break should NOT be an issue. For those of you who do emulate the aforementioned break, go get some lessons.

here is the linek: http://www.schulercue.com/faq/faq.htm#myths

Why spend your hard earned money?

First of all those are great cues!!!! Id say that the shaft would maybe get a little weaker over years of hard breaking which may cause some warpage. but i dont believe any of us need to worry about that. I think if you do decide to use your playing cue to break you should be worried about the tip getting all screwed up and possibly breaking the furrule. I would buy the BK cue by predator if i had the money to throw down. and maybe in the future i will buy one but right now i use my playing cue cause it has a hard tip on it anyway. Id say the tip is everything... if you have a soft tip Do not break with it cause you will deform it.

I break with my Fury which has a Moori M on it. I just need to re-shape it every now and then, not too frequently.

ask your opponents to use their cues for breaking since you broke yours and let us know how they react.... :)

I think that buying a break cues is a waste of money. If you have a good break you can break with anything thats in your hands. I think we have all forgotten that one can't buy a good break, it is something that you need to learn just like anything else in pool.

The break uses a very different stroke then what you shoot with. But I see alot of people break with a shooting strock and not a breaking strock.

I think once you understand the difference between the 2 strokes you'll break the hell out of any rack on any table with the worst house cue.

It seems that most people who own predators think they can buy a better breaks or shoots. I beleive that the player makes the cue not the other way around.

I think Predators are fine cues. I just don't think it can inprove your game.

That's kinda like saying buying better tires for a race car won't help the driver stick to the track.

Granted the stick does NOT make the player.. But that does not mean good equipment can't help improve ones game.

Agreed, you won't win as many tournaments with a banged-up house cue shod with a mushroomed elkmaster. ;)

You are right, but that goes as well to your playing cue, a good player can play good with a house cue.
Most people buy cues for several reasons, one of them will be to get used to a cue, it's weight, balance and feel, I've walked into many poolhalls that did not have any decent house cues, not to mention the house cues in most bars. Another reason will be the confidence that having your own cue.
When people buy a car they don't always buy the best car or the one that fit their budjet, sometimes the choice is based on looks, same goes to pool cues, playing cues and breaking cues as well.
A good break cue will not make your break better, but if you have a good break, then a good break cue can make it easier

Of course buying a break cue is a waster of money. So is buying a playing cue. Come to think of it, so is playing pool! I spend $20 on beer and quarters everytime I go to my league on Tuesdays. What have I been doing with my life?!?
