As most of you know i am looking for a schon to buy i was browsing ebay and came across these. I think they are rip off's because no where does it say Schon on the cue, also the color seems to be a litle off... Now i know what your probibly thinking buy it from seyberts and have no more problems.... i know i know but i could save almost $100 bucks if i buy this cue. Im just tring to get opinions about if you guys think this guy is trying to pull a scam or what?
the stl-3 is completely different the colors of the forarm and the points are opposite.
The rings on the stl-8 are different from the ones on the cue from schon web site.
the stl-17 is different in forarm color and butt inlays.
the other cues look about right, the general color difference can come from bad scaning of the pictures.
the differences that I found might come from those cues are old models, I can't tell for sure, but I wouldn't touch them unless I can get any verification on their originality from schon cues,
you can get the contact info at
http://www.schoncues.com/html/contact.html
Give me a call and let me have the chance to give you a good price. thanks

In years past Schon would make cues that while not identical were very similar and market them under the same model designation. I don't know if that is still the case.

I emailed this guy selling the cues and this is what he replied...
It's funny that you question the pictures, since Evan Clark (the maker of Schon Cues) actually had these pictures made specifically for internet viewing. He used these same pictures for his own website for years. He has just recently had new pictures made which I am going to adopt in the near future. As far as worrying about getting ripped-off, that's a risk you take anytime you purchase online. But that's why Ebay features a feedback forum. It allows a bit of security when doing business on their site. Also, when you pay using Paypal, they offer a buyer protection policy. I don't know what else to tell you. Thanks, Brent[quote]
I cannot beilve that if this is in fact a scam he could get away with this. I know you always take a chance on ebay but this would be outragous. I am going to call rick to see what he can do for me. but if this is infact a scam someone should alert ebay about it.

another very weird thing is that none of these auctions have even 1 bid so far. that may explain a lot

That seller has been on e-bay for some time and I haven't heard anything bad about him. However, if you're unsure, spend the extra cash for security and your peice of mind. You can always make the hundred bucks back. If you get scammed, you will be out what you paid for the cue plus what it will cost you to get a new one.

I would save the confusion and uncertainty by dealing with Rick, he will take care of you after the purchase and you can be 100% certain that you will be getting EXACTLY what you want. 8)

Sonnic, calm down and wait a while and save to get a schon you really want, not one that you think you want because you have the money. I know its hard to do, but just sit on the cash and wait, hell, keep the money in your bank account and make a cent or two. Thats what id do anyways.

When I got my Schon It was after a few years of saving my league payouts and tournament winnings but I did get there and ended up getting the cue I wanted.

Thats the one I'm saving up for too. Too bad the STL line doesn't have any cues that look that good. I really would have liked to buy it from Seyberts.

If you really want that cue, but are considering something different in the same company, what does that say to me? That says you dont really know what you want. I'm telling you, just sit on your money for atleast a month, and cool your jets, then with a clear head make a decision that you can live with and have no regrets at all about.

I think that the stl-9 looks great, I don't like cues that are too fancy and the stl-9 has that clasic look, to me it looks better then all of the last ltd line.

I love the wood color of the STL 8, Schon has so many beautiful cues. your right im not really 100% sure what to get but i do know i want a Schon cue, it just depends on the design. I think once i go one way or the other i will love it for life. or at least thats the plan...

Well it has been a few months now and still no new cue... its just so much to spend in one purchase i do have the money but cannot commit $600 bucks on a cue. I will pony up the dough and go for it eventually I just need a good kick in the ass. I am very indecisive about major purchases such as this. Also i am still undecided if i want the cx 37 or the cx 03??? what do you guys think??? I think id be happy with either and i don't think i want one more than the other (of course untill i buy it then i will wish i had the other one). any opinions????

You need a kick in the ass like I got. I dont think i wouldve ever ended up getting a new cue. But then the ceiling fan moved and caught my cue for me and here i am, going to order about a week from now. I think both of those cues looks good, you cant lose with either.
