View Full Version : Instroke Vinyl Premier cases only come in black?
I remember the Instroke vinyl cases used to come in another color ie brown and there was a cowboy style made with vinyl. Is it only all black now?

Yep, you can have any color you want as long as it's black. Instroke has to buy an awful lot of each color so they decided to go with just black. What other colors would you all like to see?
Chime in and let's see if we can improve the rainbow for the Premeirs.
John
"Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.
I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.
I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.
Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.
I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.
And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.
Well, there's things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.
Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black "

I don't know about anyone else but I would like to see the brownlike color back.
I will pipe in here as I have only had experience with the Instroke Premier line, I have owned 3. There are currently 2 - 1x2's in my home, and I sold my 2x3 via eBay, and the guy was really ecstatic.
I was never aware of a 'brown' color offered in the Premier line. I own both the black, and the burgundy, or 'wine' cases. The 2x3 was a wine case as well. As far as I know, they were the only two offered.
I personally would like to see a lovely 'natural' color, like that found on elk hide....something that would compliment a naturally stained maple cue.
As to durability......well having had the original wine 1x2 for roughly 3.5 to 4 yrs now.....I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever! It is finally beginning to show some 'rub' marks on the top back 'hinge'....but it looks just like leather when it wears. The vinyl in these cases is simply spectacular!! It is some very heavy-duty stuff. I have been fairly abusive to both these cases, in that I tend to toss and throw them into my vehicle. No problems at all. I live wear it rains....ALOT, and it is very nice to not have to worry about waterspots or staining, which is often the case with leather in general. If it gets dirty, it's a simple wipe with a damp rag...and it looks like new again.
I have to say, I personally thought the wine colored case was the more attractive of the two. It is a very rich, dark color. It was the perfect color case to compliment any purpleheart, bloodwood, or rosewood cue. I liked the added touch of the black piping around the pocket. BTW....the main reason I chose the Premier cases was affordability, and that wonderful huge pocket!! I had previously owned both Porpers and Guiseppes, both having painfully small storage space available in the smaller 1x2 config.
As a womens pool league team captain, I have to carry enough crap around with me to matches....so the very generous pocket on the Premiers was an absolute joy! I would like to add that the 1x1 and 1x2 configs come with a zippered closure, as opposed to the clasp on the larger models. I have had absolutely no problems with the zippers in either of my cases.
It doesn't matter how many different cases I buy and try....my beloved Skip Weston always seems end up back into my Instroke Premier case!!
In short, if you are looking for the absolute best protection for your cue, at a more affordable price-point, in a vinyl case....you simply cannot do better than the Instroke Premier line.....period. There is no other vinyl case manufacturer out there that can touch it.
It doesn't really matter how much you pay for your cue...10.00 or 10,000.00....it's only gonna be as good as the case you choose to protect it in.
Lisa...just a very satisfied Premier cases owner.
Dream case....Instroke 1x2 Premier styling done in a black elk hide :-)
As I was reading Lisa's post I was wondering who the hell match colors of a cue to a case and then..."As a womens pool league team captain...", ahhh weman :)
John, why not add a mirror and make up kit with an extra pocket for it ..... :) :)
sorry Lisa, just kidding :) we are not used to have many weman on this forum, Welcome :)

Excellent review Lisa! Your input is very much appreciated!
;)
skor, I prefer a black case, because it matches my 3K-1. Of course, it also matches my jacket, my motorcycle trim, my boots.... I guess most of the stuff I own is black.
