Hey a poll that I feel comfortable responding to. Except for the Lucasi, I own at least one of cue from each of these makers as well as a Joss, Jackson, Jacoby and Nova. While the Predator if a nice playing cue, on par with mass market manufactures such as Viking and McDermott, it doesn't play nearly as well as my Schon or Nova with their original shafts. I have even purchased three Predator shafts (two for my Schon and one for my Jackson) before actually purchasing a Predator cue. From reading all the posts listed on this site I realize most people, as have a lot of shooters in my area, feel that the their game has improved with the Predator. My thoughts on this are that these players are working on their game. Still learning and trying to improve their game and feel that the Predator is a step up from what they have been shooting with. Their games improved not because of the cue but from the time spent at the table. But because this is a poll and you are asking for opinions I'll say get a Schon (or a Nova, but they can be a little difficult to come by). When you feel that your game is as good as it is going to get with the time you can devote to the game then you can purchase a Predator shaft but frankly I think you'll find that that Predator is a lot of hype.

I shoot much better with my Predator Sneaky Pete than I ever did with both of my Schons, a custom cue and most other cues that I've owned. Sometimes it's the cue and not the player's ability that gives good performance.

Kokopuffs,

Need your help. :) What's your Predator SP's weight and how many inches is the balance point from the bumper's bottom?

Thanks! :)

My SPW weighs 19 oz and has a 30 inch (extra long) shaft. Dunno about the balance point. Seems irrelevant to me.

On the credits page Mark Tonnesen said that his Que Perfect cue
got 30 to 40% more bottom english than his Pechauer. I emailed him
and he said it was a pechauer that the Que Perfect cue beat so soundly. He said the Pechauer was second best and the Que Perfect cue was light years better than the Pechauer.

I haven't owned a Viking yet or a Lucasi but i have tried em. Both have a pretty good hit. I was gonna get a Viking but i went with a Falcon instead. I like the hit although the shaft doe shave a lot of deflection, kinda whippy, at least it feels whippy. That's why i can't wait to get a 314 hopefully by next month. I have put on my friends 314 on my cue, i guesse it was alright, but i don't like his taper on it. It did shoot great with his cue though, he has a Falcon too. Falcon are pretty popular here, although they are a bit overprice.

so i guesse you can count my Falcon as a predator cue without the 314 :D It did became a pred though when i borrowed my friends 314 so all in all it's a pretty good cue. I'm planning to buy a Pechauer though(IV-4 to be exact) next year on my b-day as a present for myself. Although i have never hit with it and probably won't till i buy one sisnce i haven't seen anyone that has one here yet, i'll just go with reviews then, i've only heard good things about them and haven't heard any negative comments so far.

Also when you buy a 314 shaft....does it come with a joint protector already? You know just a 1 piece for the shaft.

Great choice, I am saving up to get an IV-3 myself. Although with Seyberts layaway I might start the purchase process sooner than I would have thought.
