Does anybody here have any experience with DZcues (http://www.DZCues.com/) and cues built by Bob Dzuricky? The examples of Bob's work on his site look pretty good to me.
He's local. He does my retipping normally.
One of the guys on my team has a sneaky pete of his, and it's very well done. A lot of local people use his cues, and I have yet to hear more than a minor complaint (the ferrule on my teammate's cue came off about a month after he got it, and Bob took care of it quickly). They're very nice looking cues. Bob's a hell of a machinist, and I have yet to notice any flaws in his cues. He's also a perfectionist. I've seen some of the cues in person that are on his site, and photos don't do them justice. For custom, his prices are very reasonable, as well.
He doesn't do anything with Uni-loc joints, though (or at least he's very reluctant to do so).

They must be real knockouts then, ‘cause the photos look great - super attention to detail.

He just accepted my order for a cue (butt only, no shaft) with a Uni-Loc quick release. It’s gonna be a long four month wait to see the results of Bob’s work! He offered to send pictures of the work in progress - and I’ll post them here for all to see. Hopefully that’ll make the waiting go by more quickly.
CJK . . . . . Please ask around about the feel and hit of Bob’s cues.
Huh. He told me 6 months ago he didn't want to do Uni-loc, when I wanted a short handle for my cue for those bar tables where walls are too close.
Anyway, I can already tell you about the feel and the hit. They feel great. The cue my teammate has is heavy (to me, at least) at 21 ounces, but the balance is great. What speaks volumes to his ability is that he sells a lot of cues locally to players that are nationally ranked. You'll have to share those photos when you get them!

Here is the first installment of my Bob Dzuricky cue. Forearm and butt sleeve will be stained birdseye maple and each will have five teardrop ivory and ebony inlays. The handle will be curly maple stained a little darker than the forearm and butt sleeve. The butt cap will be ivory. The joint will be a gold Uni-Loc backed by a narrow black ring to match my Predator type shafts.

So far Mr. Dzuricky seems very interested in building an excellent cue as well as satisfying my requests.
As I said, he seems to be a really good machinist, and he does his cues right. You can clearly see the difference between his cues and anything mass-produced.
Looks good so far. Thanks for the pictures!

I was impressed with his work when I looked at his web site.
You should see him shoot with some of those cues...that guy is good.
He's not bad. I should have beat him last time we shot. He and his son both won their sections in the state tournament two years ago.
If you get a chance, you should stop at the state tournament next weekend (the weekend of the 12th) and watch Dan Marchini shoot. The guy is an artist with the cue ball.
Is it that soon? I didn't think I was going to be around for it so I never signed up.
Yep. B and D shoot this weekend, A and C next. You may still be able to get in to the singles if you call Warner's. Ask for Carmie.
I'm shooting with a B team this weekend, and C singles and team next weekend.
I'm most likely shooting B singles this weekend...thanks!
