predator shafts

I have a predator shaft to fit a joss shaft. I got a new cue that uses a 3/8 10 joint and I didn't know if it was possible to change the joint on the predator shaft.

Had a friend that had a 3/8X10 joint and had a cue repair guy change it over to 5/16X14 by installing an insert. I am not sure about the other way around? It seems that it would be very hard to get the insert out and I would imagine it would void the Predator warranty if that kind of thing is important to you.

I just spoke with our cue maker and he said it is not good to change it from a 5/16x14 insert to a 3/8x10. You would have to take the insert out and bore a hole for a dowel to go into. Then you would have to tap this out for your 3/8x10, not good. It is possible but he would not recomend. thanks
