I can tell you about alot of cue makers, but when it comes to custom made you cue, it's a question of money and how much would you like to spend.
I like Samsara, Richard Blake, DP, and list is very long

I like Samsara cues (although I have never played with them), J Pechauer makes a fine cue and it would seem, after reading all the material on the Diekman website, that he would make a solid cue. Apparently though, he won't even start a cue without an $800 deposit. Unless he's full of it, he seems to have the passion and understanding for the game that a superb cue builer requires. Tanar,
I'm glad that you liked that website :)
as for the Samsara cues, the things he does with wood..... just amazing, as for the hit and feel, I've taken a few shots with a samsara cue that had ivory joint and ferule and a moori tip and the feel was great, soft hit or hard hit, it's feels the same, no vibrations what so ever

Can anyone tell me about Burton Spain Blanks. Has anyone played with a BSB? I can't seem to find too much information on this deceased cue maker. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a link that has just about every billiard link there is for cuemakers
http://ogreen.com/cue4/

If you cannot find what you want at that site try this one

http://www.playpool.com/links.php

I think between the two you will find about every link there is for billiards and cuemakers

It would be interesting to attend Dennis Dieckman's http://www.cuemaker.com/ cueniversity. For $2500 you get to hangout with him and build your own cue. This includes food, and lodging for 10 days. Does not seem to be bad offer if you have the time.

Once I am ready, I would love to do this. I figure in about 10 years I should be prepared to take the plunge into cue building. One of the things on my list is to attend some kind of traing like this and from Dieckman's attitude, it seems that someone would gain an immense amount of knowledge from this man. We shall see....small steps....

I have a local guy who makes the best cues I have ever used. My last one only cost about 650, but it shoots the best out of Any cue I have ever used.

If anyone wants his contact info, let me know.

i bought a Mark Bear cue at the expo.
very nice work, unusual use of wildwood.
very solid cue.
i would recommend him as a great cuemaker who uses the full splice.
there are not many cue makers who use full splice.
i think it is worth the money.

no, my guy doesn't have a website. I was thinking about setting one up for him, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I can take some pictures and e-mail them to you if you like. I will be taking some pictures this weekend of his cues.

sounds like a plan. I have gotten a lot of compliments on my cue already, and I have only had it for a week.
