Hey now,
I am trying to find out the thread size for the mating portion of a uni-loc joint. I want to make some custom joint protectors for my Lucasi cues. Does anyone know? Any help would be much appreciated.
Hello,
The best that I've been able to determine
is that it's 3/8-10. The fact that there are only 1 1/2
threads to engage means you could be off by 1 TPI either
way and still have good engagement. The bigger concern
is to know when to stop the thread and
reduce the i.d. to accommodate the blank pin section.
You might want to check out the the Uni-Lock
website (http://uni-loc.com/) where the complete set of blueprints for the pin
and insert are displayed as well as installation instructions.
Another option would be because the Uni-loc pin is a piloted cofiguration, meaning that the thread is below the face surface of the joint. Start with a Uni-loc insert and install that insert into whatever material you might want to use for the body of the JP. Your project will get a whole lot easier.
P.S., we do sell the inserts and of course the ready made Uni-loc joint protectors. :D
