i have a three shade pool table light above a 9 foot table. has the hard plastic shades; therefore will not take high wattage bulbs. any suggestions on type of bulbs to use? i just bought a new set of centennials and championship 3030 from seyberts(you guys were great) but i cannot sell the idea of a new light to my wife right now. any ideas?

We prefer the larger round bulbs sold for most bathroom vanities. they seem to more evenly spread the light around the table. It might help, but really a nine foot table needs a 4 lamp set up. time to take the wife out.

Don't know what your limit is for wattage now. The problem usually comes from heat buildup with high wattage incandecent bulbs. I would try using energy efficient flourecent replacment bulbs. They'll set you back nine or ten bucks apiece but in the long run they will save you a lot of money plus you get an added bonus of a nice soft light.
