I guess I should have put this in the correct place to begin with :)

To any tippers out there, have you ever used this to shave down a 14mm tip flush to a 13mm ferrule? I have yet to find an easy way to go from a 14 mm to 13mm in short of using a lathe.

I own one and have used it to do such a thing. There is no really easy way of shaving down the tip and it takes a good eye to see you are shaving everything down evenly. Also, be careful that the razor blade does not gouge the ferrule. Just try and work the blade around the tip evenly.

With a bench grinder and a little caution you turn down a tip with out ever touching the ferrule and then some sand paper to even up things up. You can also use a regular old wood file.
