Is there any difference between the old box style (suitcase) cue case and the tube (over the shoulder type) case? Any difference in protection? Thanks

Unless you plan on tossing your case in front of a rushing semi, in the real world both styles will do a fine job of protecting your cues from the everyday bangs and bumps. Although, if you are worried about someone else tossing your case in front of a rushing semi you might want to invest in a Zero Halliburton (suitcase style) case. The Zero Halliburton case is probably the best way to go if you take your cues with you on an airliner. Seybert's sells these cases at a very fair price. Here is the link http://www.seyberts.com/cases/halliburton/index.htm

Not so worried about a semi, and yes, both will do a fine job. But, I have had both and when I put my cues in the tube style, I could not get them back out without banging the hell out of it.
